Maine Lobster Ain't Nothing Bettah- The stage was set, lobsters boats nearby were just unloading their fresh catch, a warm summer breeze was present as Brian, my father-in-law, and I enjoyed our Homarus Americanus at Muscongus Bay Lobster Pound in Round Pond, Maine. Rarely would we raise our heads beyond the scope of our seafood trays, or even speak for that matter, but on one such notable occasion Brian aka "PA", did so and uttered the immortal words “Ain’t Nothin’ Bettah!” I nodded wholeheartedly in agreement.

The wounded Snowy Owl gets a lift from Portland, Maine, to his Arctic homeland. On the way, everyone learns something new in this children’s story inspired by a true adventure. June 1934. Inspired by a true story. The schooner Bowdoin set off from Portland, Maine, with a crew of brave explorers and one Snowy Owl. Arcturus, shot by a hunter, had been rescued by the Audubon Society, but he'd missed his migratory trip north with his flock. Though unused to such an illustrious shipmate, the crew came to love him, but their mission was to take him home to Anetalak Bay, Labrador, and set him free before the weather got too warm. And so they did.

Often the letters were written from one or the other while they were traveling, but missing their homes and friends. The letters represent a witty and charming correspondence between two literary giants, their stories of Maine, the beauty of our region, and the trials and tribulations of living here.
Introduced by White's granddaughter, Martha White, the letters show their first formal communications, their chummy middle years, right up to the death of Edmund Ware Smith. Throughout, there is a strong sense of place and community.

When Geraldine “Gerry” Largay (AT trail name, Inchworm) first went missing on the Appalachian Trail in remote western Maine in 2013, the people of Maine were wrought with concern. When she was not found, the family, the wardens, and the Navy personnel who searched for her were devastated. The Maine Warden Service continued to follow leads for more than a year. They never completely gave up the search. Two years after her disappearance, her bones and scattered possessions were found by chance by two surveyors. She was on the U.S. Navy’s SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape) School land, about 2,100 feet from the Appalachian Trail.
This book tells the story of events preceding Geraldine Largay’s vanishing in July 2013, while hiking the Appalachian Trail in Maine, what caused her to go astray, and the massive search and rescue operation that followed. Her disappearance sparked the largest lost-person search in Maine history, which culminated in her being presumed dead. She was never again seen alive. The author was one of the hundreds of volunteers who searched for her. Gerry’s story is one of heartbreak, most assuredly, but is also one of perseverance, determination, and faith. For her family and the searchers, especially the Maine Warden Service, it is also a story of grave sorrow.
Marrying the joys and hardship of life in the outdoors, as well as exploring the search & rescue community, When You Find My Body examines dying with grace and dignity. There are lessons in the story, both large and small. Lessons that may well save lives in the future.

The Lobster Claw--- this Maine favorite is one of our biggest industries and represents not only our local lobsterman but also all of our visitors that enjoy lobster. The original claw was found in Kennebunkport, Maine, and it is cast in a way that you can see all of the details and textures of the original claw. Each ornament is individually cast, sanded, and sealed-therefore they are unique artworks and will vary slightly from this photo. The casting that I use are not meant to be exposed to "the elements", so it should not be hung in an area with high humidity or outside. Bonus feature: you can add a few drops of your favorite essential oils to it to brighten up any space!

This 24k gold plated ornament is three dimensional, with delicate etching in the center and a special decorative hook for hanging.
Each stocking is lined with muslin fabric and the stocking cuff is hand tea-dyed cotton batting. Fusible interfacing is added to the body of the stocking to give it durability. A heavy jute twine loop makes it ready to hang.

I harvested the oyster shell off the coast of beautiful Maine and hand painted the Lighthouse in my Maine home studio.
This piece of decorative art is hand painted with acrylic paints and finished with a coat of varnish for durability and to bring out the natural beauty of this shell.

A 'cygnet' is a young swan; elegant and fierce. I produce this bracelet in collaboration with leatherworker Jon Lim. Designing the hook, I really wanted to capture the nature of Jon’s style; crisp, clean, and refined. The bail of the hook is crimped in place through the leather for a strong and subtle connection.
